Need help identifying a cab I know it is a 1973 - 79 era. It is a cab that was in deal I did to get another high boy 3/4 ton chassis. The cab has a solid floor. Meaning that it does not have a bolt in trans. cover. It has not had a replacement floor or any repairs done to it, very solid rust free cab. There is no V I N on it to help and the doors are missing. Previous owner sold them. Every truck I have ever owned (and I only own Fords) 2WD, 4WD, Stick or Auto has had the bolt in trans cover. I am thinking of using it on my daily driver since the V I N plate is on the door of truck. Any ideas? Thanks.
My 73 that came with a 3 speed column shift has a solid floor and a 79 i had that came with a C/6 auto transmission had a solid floor, Both 2/wheel drive. So I guess it depended on what kind of transmission came in them new maybe.
Ok, from the information I have received it is most likely a1973-74 2wd. I will just use the removable trans. section in my cab to make a template for it and cut the floor and bolt in my cover.
Also how many posts do I need to be able to post a classified for a rolling chassis and and bunch of parts?
Another clue to it being a '73-'74 cab is to look at the firewall. In the center of the firewall, just below the cowl is an oval shaped rubber plug. '75-up didn't have it.
