2012 F-250 Keyless Entry wiring problems
Thanks a million for the information so far, I've had a nightmare to this point. I have an A.R.E. "Z" series cap and am trying to wire the "E" lock, keyless entry on it. What a horror. I have had very little luck from A.R.E tech dept, as they are baffled too and my Ford dealer isnt exactly forthcoming in helping me out either. I have a 2012 - F250 Crew cab 4x4 Diesel Lariat. A.R.E. says a remote starter changes the colours too, my truck did not have the option at time of purchase (3 weeks ago) but the dealer installed a FORD FACTORY remote start that works off of FORD FACTORY keys, however, the wires still do not match. I have been told drivers side, rear passenger side, before the remote start box and still havnt the foggiest. Nowhere in any of the installation files from A.R.E. does it mention anything about wiring in seperate relays. Can somebody, PLEASE help. Thank you in advance.

1. You need a door lock wire to tap into to make the lock on the cap work? If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me. I found this thread, there's a few ideas and a couple links to other threads for adding a tailgate lock to work in conjunction with the door locks, so it may lead you in a good direction with what to tap into for the cap.

2. Remote start isn't changing the caps colors? I would assume this would just be tied into the parking lights in some manner, or even a powered source that's on when the truck is started but the key is off. May be time to get out a test light and hit the fuse box.
What wires is A.R.E expecting you to hook up, meaning what do we have to work with? (i.e. red wire is constant, black is ground, etc).
