Went out to fire up the beast today as usual. All I got was an engine that was trying to turn over but couldn't. I had to call Ford Roadside Assistance, for a tow to the shop. The tech said it could be a leaking injector causing a hydrostatic lock. I was thoroughly POed the truck only has 20K on it. I told my wife that maybe I should trade it in on a new f150 and be done with diesels for good. So we go over to the lot to check out the new trucks. Within 1 hour they called me back to the shop my truck was done. Turns out one battery went belly up. I had my baby back and the warranty covered every cent. The Wife turned to me and said "you wouldn' really have traded her would you". Nah
Yea, they look kinda cool too. I haven't looked at one close up. I can't go to the dealership. I have this uncontrollable desire to go in debt and get another Mustang. I'm avoiding temptation.
gotta check those batteries. Every Oil change i check the fluid levels on the batteries. Glad it was just a battery. I love my f250 best 43 gz I ever spent
They did..... and then I sold her. It freaked me out and I didn't want to chance it. I will say she ran better than she ever did when I got her back fro the dealer. It also makes me think she was never right from the start.
I'm glad to hear that it was only a battery. But on a more serious note I'm not sure what there is to be scared of on a vehicle that's under warranty. If it breaks, no matter how serious it is, the manufacturer is responsible as long as the failure isn't caused by the truck's owner or a third party.
So what's to be scared of? So your engine blows up...they give you a shiny new engine on their dime. Heck, I violated one of my principles and purchased an extended warranty on my Ex. I hope this thing blows sky high under warranty! Would be pretty cool to get a fresh engine or tranny without paying for it...

My incident freaked me out because just a few days earlier, I was in the middle of no where (northern MI). I didn't even have cell reception which blows my mind being 2012. I got lucky that it happened in town. Any engine failure sucks, covered or not, it makes you think. I had her in a few times for service calls, CEL's and the turbo, EGR valves and NOX (again). During my ownership of my 07 Cummins 5.9, oil and fuel filter changes, that is all. My buddy rags on me for selling the Cummins as he still has his 06 5.9 with over 300K miles on her. Runs like a champ. Overall, I am relieved I sold her. I hope she will make someone else that comes to this forum very happy as again, she ran better than ever after the new turbo, EGR and NOX.
