Sorry I have to rant a little bit here. Last year the ford dealership installed a brand new E4OD because mine blew its guts all over I-80. It starts shifting hard this week so i take it in and its still under warranty. They said they'd figure it out and i get a call yestarday telling me that'll it will be a week before I get it back because they got to tear it apart. I go down there today with my friend who's dad OWNS the place (I'm his next door neighbor) and i get this whole speal about me hot rodding the **** out of my truck. Supposely the mechanic said he sees me doing burnouts all the time. I live in southwest nebraska there's a lot of silver F150's... I've never abused the thing its towed a boat once. I gave them an earfull and its getting fixed! Thanks for reading!
Man, I really do HATE the Ford dealerships. All of them. Knowing Ford they will come up with some crap story and make you pay more than the vehicle is worth in diagnostic labor. Stand your ground, think smart (follow what Diesel_Brad said) and most importantly stay calm. Ive learned that one the hard way being gifted with a short temper. You can get it fixed the way it should be.
Here's a dealership story allthough its not Ford related(till the end)...
My friend went and bought a new camro, He never got it off the lot and the rear end locked up! The dealer service manager yelled at him about hot-rodding it and no warranty will be on it. Well the odo ONLY HAD .6 miles ON IT and the car never left the lot! He made a issue of it and got his money back(all cash) and went an got a Mustang!! Found out later that service manager jerk got canned over that and tried to pick bones with my friend and lost again.
Now days with the economy in the dumps, dealerships are being hard azzes on everything just to get $$ out of you.
As sad as it is to say, thats the service the majority of dealerships provide now a days. They have the mentality that they will try to screw you by blaming stuff on you, before even digging into the problem (and that goes for just about every problem!)
Anything to save a buck, and nothing to save a customer.
I forgot to mention the funny thing is i took it in about a month ago and the pan gasket was leaking so I had it replaced under warranty too I wonder if they didn'y put enough ATF back in! This is the same dealership one of my other friends had body work done to his silverado after hitting a deer. They must have had a bucket full of bolts left over after repairing because he's still finding places where there's bolts missing.
I really hate going to Ford dealership all they do is lie to me. When I bought my psd they said it was a one owner truck and was always serviced there. I did not believe them so checked into it truck had 2 other owners and only time it was serviced there was when the cam pos sensor went out and was towed there because it was close and then the guy traded it. It has been a great truck and was well taken care of but the lying just pisses me off. Luckly I found a good local mechanic that runs a tight ship and wants my business back. He is straight forward and expects the same treatment and he does very well.
