Ok so i bought a 2015 platinum f-150 brand new when it first came out. I have had it for almost 4 years. Last year the transmission melted, No biggie replaced under warranty. For the last year i have had a strange electrical draw were the battery would go dead after about 2 hours. This would last for a couple of days then go away and then come back about 3 months later. Ford service could not figure it out. Then i get a broke piston skirt. Ford service decides to give me a long block new engine. Its in the shop for 5 weeks, they say they found the draw and replace the shifter, which cost me $400.00 parts and labor and new battery. I am fine with that, but i pick truck up and on drive home Transmission over heats to 280 degrees. I pull over let it cool off and make it home. Tow truck back to dealer and it next morning battery dead so electrical is not fixed, and now don't know what s up with transmission. Is there any thing i can do with lemon law or if i trade it win will i get any extra money for having a new motor and transmission? really don't wanna buy a new truck yet but this one sucks right now.
You’re dealer has a bad service dept. They are likely giving your truck to a junior tech since warranty work doesn’t pay well. I never trust a shop who throws parts at something without verifying that the part will solve the issue.
Have the service manger put a top tech on it. If they wont do it, Have a wrecker pick it up and take it to a better dealer.
A new engine won’t get you any more money on a late model truck. On a classic it will.
Sad part is it is at the better dealer. When having the battery problem i would take off negative lead so i left it kinda lose so i would not have to jump truck every time it happened. took truck to dealer near me and told them problem and old them negative lead was lose on purpose. 3 days latter the call me and said they fixed the problem, leads were lose is what they said.
It varies among states. Some of them have it up to 18 months or 18,000 miles. What state are you in? I can look it up, but I think you might be past that.
With the new 7.0 DOHC engine, I really wouldn't want to be the very first customer with an untested engine...
The 7.0 DOHC is just a long running rumor. Ford has a new 7.3 pushrod gas V8 coming out for the Super Duty. For 2019 the Raptor gets a new active suspension and some minor option tweaks. The EcoBoost carries over.

Well it can't be any worse than my truck problems now i figure. Maybe i should get a 250 then. Any idea when the raptor comes out? or just late this year
Lemon Law varies from state to state. Find out what your state requires and go from there. But with a 4 year old truck your chances seem slim. Most states requires 30 days in the shop for the same issue.
Since you have a Platinum and are looking to a Raptor you appear to have no problem spending $60-70K on a pickup. It's no big deal but over the last 50 yrs of buying pickups I've found the less options and electronics I have the better. I currently have a Lariat which is the highest model I've ever had and I do like it.
All manufacturers seem to have the same type problems with highly optioned vehicles whether the options are standard for the model or not. The more "****" you have the more goes wrong.
I don't know how you use your truck and in Cali we don't salt roads but I just hate all this electric stuff under our trucks. As I get older and have made good choices with retirement (luckily my children don't need help either) I look to trade every 4-5 yrs no matter the mileage. Good luck.
