since im dumb...
I have seen people refer to the "hitch mod" and the "harpoon" mod....what in the heck are they talking about? I have read all the stickys but feel like I'm on the outside of an inside joke...what gives? Haha I hate to ask and am nervous about the answer...

HUTCH mod. Not Hitch. =)
Harpoon is gutting the filler neck for the tanks and adding a different breather tube.
Hutch mod is an in the tank mod that requires dropping the tanks or removing the bed where you rebuild the pickup and extend the return line to reduce air bubbles from getting into the pickup.
