Well, I've pondered it for a long time, so I'm gonna ask. How do I get my truck to take fuel faster. I know there is a mod for it, Harpoon, or Hutch. Something like that. What does it involve? How hard is it, and how long does it take? On my new dually, the rear tank you can only trickle fuel in it. I know the idea is to vent it better. Tell me what you guys have done.
The hose isn't kinked or anything like that. But I've never really payed any attention to where a vent hose is or anything like that.
Rubberduck, I hear you about the time that it takes to fill up, but I am going to leave mine the way it is. The number one reason is that you should pump your diesel on the lowest speed that way you splash less and lose less. Remember seeing the tip on pumping gas. Secondly when it takes so long I tend to feel like I get more out of it. Just my two cents

i just move the nozzle around in mine... it will sometimes take it wide open first try but sometimes it take me 10 trys or so to get it right... but try that first...
LOL I used to see this guy at the gas station every week filling up and it would take him forever, when he would pull in the attendant would put wheel ramps on one side of the truck he would drive up on them LOL and claim it would pump faster LOL the guy would still get covered in fuel LOL his was a dually as well
Duck, I have the mod that FOrdFOrever posted on both of my tanks. I fill with the big truck nozzles and can run it wide open until the last 2-3 gallons. The only thing that I did different was I used 3/4 inch for the vent line and put a "T" in it with a short piece of 3/4 inch hose and re-installed the rollover valve/vent so that the tank could breath.
Yep I did the same mod with my Bronco tank in my 95. One of these days when I pull the bed off this truck so do a few other things I will be venting the tanks like that. Works great! I used a torch to slit the inner peice then beat it out with a long punch. I also didn't mod the roll over valve I just removed it and JB welded a pipe fitting in.

Plo, could you attach some pics of the "T", where is it located? and how long is the other piece of hose? And did you modified the rollover valve? or it is like stock?
On my rig if you tip the nozzle down (pick up on the rear of the nozzle) once it is inside the pipe I can full at "super-maximum-turbo speed" but I usually don't mainly because of what casey said..."makes me feel like am getting more gas if I go slower"
Good luck w/the tank mod

I mean this in the nicest way possible, but what the hell are you talking about?
when i swapped my stock tank out for a 33 gal bronco tank i went ahead and did the harpoon mod as well as the filler neck mod. both have proven themselves. i too just removed the rollover valve and jb welded a fitting in place. a 3/4" rubber hose runs from that fitting to a straight fitting jb welded in the filler neck. its tight enough where it wont dip down with the weight of diesel but not to the point of kinking.
this is the fitting jb'd in the filler neck (not pretty, but it works!)
this is the tank ready to be put up in the truck... this is before i decided to jb the fitting in the top.
again, this is before i jb'd the fitting to the tank and removed the rubber grommet. this is also the combination of fittings i used to get the right size hose
