Question Simple CCV mod question !

I've got what I hope is a simple CCV mod question !
The CCV mod comes off the drivers side valve cover vent, right ??
Is there also a vent on the pass. side valve cover ??
Thats it !
Thanks,

You are correct, there is no vent on the passenger side.

I guess because IHC decided one CCV was sufficient to eliminate the blow by from the crank case.

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't the CCV like the PCV on a gasser? If so, then I would think if it's sucking the fumes from the crankcase, then there has to be a fresh air inlet as well, usually on the opposite valve cover. If there was no inlet for fresh air, wouldn't the CCV's suction cause a vacuum in the crankcase? Wouldn't this in turn be counter-productive toward ventalating the crankcase?

bigred your close, the main reason a gasser has to have the fresh air inlet is the carb or fuel injections are set up to pull a certian amount of the required air through the PCV system so if there wasn't enough blowby to provide enough air through that system then it would start running really rich. Now on a diesel the air isn't the regulating factor for mixture or RPMs so the ccv only has to remove the blowby, and a little vacumn in hte engine is a good thing as it helps to prevent blown seals, and helps the rings seat better plus helps to keep airborn contaminant out that can get through the rings with the blowby. Racers use this on gas race engines by using a vacumn pump instead of a PCV system so the air isnot a factor on the engines mixture, and they do it for the above stated reasons with no fresh air inlet like on a typical PCV setup.

OK......but if only the drivers side valve cover has a ccv and we do the mod why not install a vent for the pass side valve cover and do the mod or vent for that side as well, then we've balanced the system..... Right ? As it is now only one side is benefited..But we can do both....It couldn't be that hard, maybe just putting the drivers side valve cover into the other side and wala a vent and a mod for the right bank as well....
