Cruise Control - Different Issue
I have gone over most of the past threads about cruise control problems but have not found the answer to this one. Everything appears to be working on this truck as it should except the cruise control.
The cruise control is not working at all, at any time, at any speed. This just happened a couple of months ago all of a sudden. When I press the "Set/Accel" button the green indicator light on the instrument panel comes on. When I touch the brake pedal or hit the "Off" button for the cruise it goes out. The self diagnostics show everything is normal. I have no fault codes at all when I hook up my reader. Yes, the truck has been through the recall. I have tried removing the jumper that was added for the recall for a short while and running without it, and also have disconnected and jumpered the connector for the original wiring to the switch on the master cylinder. The switch on the master cylinder is bone dry so it's not leaking. Yes, the horn works. All my fuses are good. As I said above, everything else on this truck works as normal.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction for my next move? Is there maybe a relay under the dash that I may have overlooked? What actually holds the throttle open when all the elctronic pieces have done their thing? Is their a mechanical connection somewhere that may have become disconnected?
