Shift arm removal

I feel like a fool, but I can't figure out how the upper portion of the shift arm for a C6 attaches to the column (above the rag joint).. I need to get it out so I can finish pulling the steering column, and I don't want to break it by just pulling on it.

Does it slide out or is there a clip of some sort?

Slides out, no clip. I use a pry bar, they are bent the right way, to pop it out.

X2, pry it out. The nylon bushing presses into the arm and the shift rod presses into the bushing. 50/50 chance of whether the bushing stays in the arm or comes out with the rod.
