Seem to be having problem getting my C-6 transplant to align on the steering column with my 65 c-4 style indicator; was thinking steering column indicator shouldn't need changing; but be able to adjust the shift rod to align; was told a c-6 shift stroke is longer than c-4;
ANY SUGGESTIONS?
Length of the "stroke" is adjustable by re positioning the lower end of the shift rod in the slot on the shift arm. The shift arm is also adjustable by repositioning it on the splined shaft on the transmission. I like the LoKar setup, bit spendy but nice and easy to set up.
William;
I've havn't paid attention where or not the shift arm has two slots; but I did have to change the arm from a floor mount to a column mount; I would be interested in knowing more about the Lokar products. I'll attempt to look them up on the net.
Thanks for your reply.

C. C. The shift arm has one slot. The shift rod bolts to it and the shift rod pivots top and bottom. Changing the length of the stroke or positioning the indicator and shift collar is adjustable by moving the bolt on the shift arm. The shift arm is also splined and can be repositioned by pulling it off and repositioning it. The LoKar deal is really nice, you get a new aluminum shift arm and rod with ball joint pivots. I paid about 40 bucks at the Nationals in Pigeon Forge a couple of years ago. The kit for a C6 will get you all the parts you need. They also have a nice kick down cable and accelerator cable. The mount they use at the carburetor is a bit "cheezy" but it works.
