I have a 99 f-250 7.3L super duty.
My speedometer guage in the cluster is not working properly. It may be affecting my turbo etc.
the meter doesnt read over 40mph and when I get to speeds of 75 or above it drops down to 0 and doesnt read at all.
Any ideas to what that could be?
p.s. I've already replaced the sensor on rear differential.
if it was doing it when you bought it i might pull the cluster out and make sure it is plugged in good.
other then that i will have to let someone comment on it.
If the thermostat is bad or the gasket is flipped...there are many on here that say to replace the thermostat with a ford OEM part as some of the non oem's fail quickly. Just what I have read about thermostats so far on this board.

Did you find a solution to your Speedometer problem? I'm having a similar issue with my 2002 F250 diesel. The speedometer might register zero or 105, but usually when I take off, it will immediately jump to 75 and stay there no matter what speed I'm driving.
The ABS light was on, but had that issue addressed. No ABS light now, but Speedo still not working.
All other gauges and lights work just fine. Fuses seem to be all fine. Could it be that the instrument cluster is bad? How would you check this?
