speedo trouble!

speedo trouble!
i have a 97 f-150 and when ever the outside temp gets above 55 degrees the the speedo quits working below 55 deg it works fine. can anyone tell me why this happens and how to fix it? i have been to the local ford dealer and they have no idea how to fix it. any ideas would be great!

I've never seen that happen before. If you do a search in the forum here you'll find some posts about speedo problems. You could have a bad connection in the circuit board on the back of the instrument cluster.
If I was working on the truck at the dealership I would monitor the Vehicle Speed Sensor signal while out on the road to see if the VSS is actually sending a signal to the cluster or not.
Maybe HomerWinzlow or Troll will come along and have some more ideas. They may have seen this before.
