Speedometer mystery
2002 f-250 super duty with the v-10 motor. When i use the truck early morning(7:00am) I reach 30 mph and the speedometer then pegs to 100 mph. I put a new vehicle speed sensor (VSS) in the rear end and the same thing happens. I drive the truck later in the day after it sits in the afternoon sun and the speedometer works fine. All other gauges on the cluster are in working order. No check engine or abs light. Truck seems to run fine. Do I have a problem in the cluster? Electrical wiring problem? Or a problem in the rear end with thw gear the VSS is reading? Anybody have this issue or any ideas on whats going on?
