I swapped out my junk FX4 Rauncho's last spring. 4 shocks and steering stabilizer with Bilstein 5100's and the HD stabilizer. WOW what a difference. No wheel shimmy at highway speeds and far more control over washboard roads. I tow a heavy fifth wheel trailer and since replacing the shocks, it's a whole lot more comfortable ride with less porpoising(sp).

Replacing all 5 with the 5100's is a great upgrade. Too bad Ford doesn't offer this from the factory. That way I wouldn't have to explain to my wife that my new truck needs new shocks,

I have an 06 F350 4X4 CCLB Amarillo Edition that I want to put
some new shocks on. Not sure what is on it now. But it is a bit
of a rattle going over the speed bumps.Just got the truck in March
this year. Not towing yet. So what would be my best bang for the buck?
When I do start to tow it will be a 30' gooseneck flatbed.
Please give me some ideas and your experiences.
Thanks

The Rancho 5100's sound like a nice ride improvement. Anyone have any comments on highway travel when is comes to porposing? You know, that nasty rear end bounce that keeps you from drinking your coffee because you can't stop it from bouncing into your nose.
Ok guys please be patient with me..... What I am getting from this thread is the 5100 series Blisteins will wok on a "stock height" F-350 as will the 4600 series. Is the additional steering stabilizer a requirement or an option?
Springer340,
The 5100 stabilizer can be done seperately, it's not required. But it's definitely worth doing. Might be easier to just do all 5 together.
don't buy Skyjacker! i hate mine ssoo much, i had the front one blow a seal not a week after i installed them and i had to pay shipping twice for the new front ones, now eight months later both rear shocks blew their seal and oil is dripping ever day and Skyjacker wants me to send pictures and a video to show them my truck to see if its a "off road truck" before they will tell me if they will warranty the shocks even though Skyjacker has a lifetime warranty
