I've never looked at 'EX.BACK PRESS', I'll have to take a look. Last winter though I did clean the tube.

I've been thinking about the flexplate, would a high torque starter and powerful XS power batteries 'hurt' the flexplate? I mean this setup spins that motor over really fast!!

Unless the bolts were loose to the crank, or it was a **** flexplate, I don't see where there would be an issue.

It's not a very exciting parameter to watch. If you have the EBPV unplugged then you won't see much change in the numbers, maybe 3 - 4 PSI at the most. It's interesting to watch in winter when the PCM is using the valve for rapid warmup. PCM likes to keep the back pressure between 20 - 30 PSI but because it's a slow moving valve it's easy to go over 30, then PCM opens EBPV a bit to compensate. Just an interesting parameter to watch and some piece of mind why the rig is doing what it is doing ...

Wrong sensor bro.

Were talking about the sensor on the front of the HPOP.

No, Jim is talking about the right one. That's the EBPS. It has a tube that feeds down into the passenger side manifold.

That's what I'm referring to, exhaust back pressure sensor.

Oh crap, I'm sorry. Your wording led me to believe you were saying it was the EBPV.

Running around light today, maybe 20 miles, I was reading 14 to 18 depending on load.

I would guess that's about normal. It should read close to a 1:1 ratio to your boost pressures.

I never see mine over 14 and never under 10.

I wonder though, if you are seeing higher backpressure numbers what that could help diagnose.

I wouldn't worry about the back pressure numbers as long as they correlate to about a 1:1 ration on the boost pressure. The more fuel you dump to it, the more boost and back pressure you can expect to see.

I don't think you'll see a 1:1 ratio on it is what I'm getting at.
