86 302 EFI issues

Hey guys,
Ok I have an 86 F250 302 EFI that wont start unless some carb cleaner is sprayed in the intake or, it was just ran. and once it starts, it wont idle very long without stalling. *note this engine was just switched to EFI and at the moment it does not have o2 sensors hooked in. i thought it would run without them. could this be the issue?
thanks

Run the codes from the computer and see what you get(besides a O2 error code).

The TPS is pretty important, I'd correct that problem and see what happens afterwards.
It should run without O2 sensors but it won't run optimally.

Well, I don't know, you never explained what kind of EFI system you put on it or what the exact error message was or what else you may have done or what wires are hooked to what or what you did to convert it or what you converted from, we here really know very little about your setup or your problem and so there's really not much anybody here can do to help with such little information.

If you go Googling about how to test a TPS you will probably run across methods using an ohm meter, a TPS is only a mechanical rheostat like a volume **** on a TV or radio. Some people do some tests with volt meters, too, or so I seem to recall.

If it's bad enough that the computer says that it's bad, then I'd imagine it's bad.

Of course, such may not always be the case.

Are you suggesting that people will somehow remember that you posted a different thread over a month ago (almost 2 months) that contains the information that should be in your first post in this thread?

I hope not, I rarely even look at who the author is until afterwards and, even at that, it's only sometimes.

I don't display signatures or avatars, I tend to whip through things unless I find something I can help with.

OK, I see who you are now.

While a TPS could conceivably cause your problems, have you checked your fuel pressure & output rate at the engine?
