Would it be possible to put an EFI setup on a '72 302? Would the intake bolt up to the old heads? What sensors are used as inputs to the EFI computer? Has anyone done this?
I haven’t done this! Likely never will, but...check out JEGS they list a kit from Holley and another from Edelbrock for EFI retrofit on carbureted small block Ford engines.

I think that the only problem you'd run into is that the newer EFI blocks have the knock sensor in the block. You need the knock sensor so that the EEC-IV processor can adjust timing, etc. My 2 bits.

I have put the multiport injection from an 86 on to an 84 block that had the tpi injection on it. As far as a knock sensor, the 86 doesen't have one but if you went with one that did I am sure you could find a place to mount it on the block. It is a pretty straight forward deal, it would be alot easier if you had the doner vehical on hand as I didn't and have had to got get parts from the junk yard every week. You can see mine at the following site. If you have any questions please ask.
