Air Conditioner??
Now as others have said, when I get in my truck to leave I roll down all 4 windows and let the wind suck out as much of the heat as it will before I put the A/C on. I typically use Max A/C which automatically goes to recirc. I'd say in about 15 minutes the truck feels cooler than it was when I got in. The center armrest still feels hot to the touch though, so I point the center vents down to cool it off. Even with the windows down for the first five minutes, I get right on the highway and up to 65 in no time, there is still a lot of trapped heat in the dashboard and inner workings of the truck which I'm sure saps cold air for a little while. It makes perfect sense to me. You have cold air coming out of vents that are surrounded by a 120-140 degree dashboard and console area.
Probably 20 minutes in to my 40 minute commute home the truck starts to feel cold. By the time I get to my exit and I'm roughly 10 minutes out I kick the A/C down to normal and turn the fan to 3. At that point its tolerable. Now take in to account I work outside for a living and I've already dealt with the elements all day in a work truck that has no A/C. So maybe I just deal with it better. When I was on vacation a few weeks back up north in Maine the cab was ice cold in about 10 minutes since it was only about 80 or so and there was next to no humidity.
