2010 A/C issue

I have a 2010 F250 6.4 extra cab. I have own the truck for 6 months and have 5,000 miles on it. Since we are in the summer months I have been using the A/C more. Doing highway speeds, flat road and the crusie control on, the temperature from the A/C seems to go from cold to cool and then back to cold again. Does a Ford A/C cycle on and off?
The A/C also seems to work better, colder, when I am at a stop light or at low speeds, 35mph. Since this is a new truck I was wondering if something was wrong, or this is how Ford A/C units normally operate. I am use to Toyota A/C which gets the truck cold. Thanks

Buy a thermometer. That way you KNOW the temps, not just a percieved cold/ not as cold/ cold again feeling.
Are you using MAX AC or NORM AC? Max is recirculating the interior air, whereas Norm is cooling outside air. The outside air is at a higher pressure when moving, especially at highway speeds, so it ould be less cool than at slow speeds or stopped.

Yep, heres another vote for buying an AC thermometer at any auto parts store.

Just shove it in one of the vents & see what you're getting. This will give you something to tell the dealer.

FWIW, I always run with fresh air on my 87 Ranger, and the temp always runs around 40 degrees.
