ECU location for 96 Ranger 3.0L V6 2WD?

Where is this ECU thing? I want to order a Diablo chip and I need the computer code.

Is this the same thing as the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) shown in the Haynes manual?

Does anyone have photos of where this is? Or what it looks like?

Perfect! Thanks!

When I was looking, I thought that was some wiper thing.

Will the Diablo chip be sticking out the bottom? Side? Top?

Does it go where that wiring harness connector goes? And the wiring harness plugs onto the chip? So the chip is like an adaptor?

You remove the two bolts on the sides of the box, loosen the center bolt (it doesn't come off) and pull the box out. The chip plugs into the back and sticks out about 1/8th of an inch.

Final confirmation...

I found this on the label:

EEC-V ML2-111
F57F-12A650-CMC
G SIT2

The "SIT2" was in larger letters. Is that the code I need to give when ordering?

Will the Diablo Two Stage raise the speed limiter? To what?

SIT2 is the code. Unfortunately, Diablo does not have a template for that code. I would have to do it as a Superchips chip or you would need to send your computer to us so we can read it and have Diablo create a template.

ECU location for 96 Ranger 3.0L V6 2WD?

Argh! I was so settled on a Diablo chip.

I know this is posted somewhere already, but:

1) Is the Superchips chip selling for the same price?

2) Besides not having the option of switching between two programs, what am I losing by going with a Superchips chip?

3) Does the Superchips chip require a thermostat change? Or was that some other chip?

Thank you so much for your help.

For the 1 stage, yes.

Its not as aggressive as the Diablo so you may lose a couple horsepower. On the Ranger, it has clearance problems. To install it you'll need to break off a small plastic tab at the back of the computer housing (its not where it can be seen).
3) Does the Superchips chip require a thermostat change? Or was that some other chip?
No, only Jet requires that.

So, I guess at this point I should go and order the Superchips #1100.

Maybe I'll sleep on it for a day....

Thanks for all the info.
