No need for an impact. Just use the "breaker bar on the frame rail" trick and bump the starter. Pops right off and then just use a ratchet to get it out the rest of the way.
Curious what your low oil pressure problem is though Tim. Keep us posted.
I heard about the breaker bar under the frame trick, but wasnt about to try. Hopefully, this will be the last lpop i mess with for awhile. Back to the pressure, not sure guys, it sits a perfect 5psi when oil is warm. I'm bet'n its on placement of sensor. I did the wood-n-things / Springerpop bypass method, and "T-d" the line there at filter, for the sensor. Beginning to think, that may be the problem. Other than that, without the gauge, one wouldn't know. Glad i got them gauges. When i get back from river, gonna undo the "feed" line to filter, and install gauge there, see whats REALLY goin on....
I have discovered my Lpop to be leaking very badly today so this week I will be ordering the Melling pump from Clay. I have a standard h/b removal kit/tool, I assume that works?

Yeah, that works, I also rented a tool from O'Smelly's to press it back on so I didn't have to do the longer bolt method.
