You'll be fine. It sounds complicated, but you'll find that it's as simple as changing a light bulb.
Reading the codes is like directing you to which light bulb in your house is bad. The boot is like a lamp shade, and the coil is like the socket. The connector to the coil is like the electrical cord.
Before you unscrew your spark plug, make sure your engine is cool. Just like you wouldn't want to change a light bulb hot. Not for the same reason because of the aluminum heads, but...
