Ran close to E and now having problems?

I know it's not good to run close to E due to the engine picking up BS at the bottom of the tank but it got that way because I forgot my wallet on the way to work and back one day.

It seems as those its sputtering and I feel like I only have half power. I got it up to 65 or so on the highway and every so often after 50mph I would press the gas and I would get a pretty annoying shake coming from the engine it seemed.

Someone please tell me I should just put some injector fluid mixed with my current fill up. Just put 33 gallons in on the way to work and I am still having this issue with plenty of gas.

Any help would be hugely appreciated as I really don't have the funds to put a lot of money into this due to currently moving into a new condo.

I know you've probably thought of this but have you cleaned out/replaced the fuel filter? Could've sucked some crap up into it blocking normal fuel flow.

Not really, I don't really know much about engines and how to work on them . Wish I could learn though.

I took it out mudding sunday and it ran like a beast. Whole trip home drove smooth and gravy besides breaking a weld that held one of my mufflers up

It started when I was on low fuel light, I then pulled over and put some gas in it to see if I just needed gas and it continued. Then put 100 bucks in it today about 33 gallons worth and it's still doing it the whole trip to work. Shakes pretty bad at 50+ when I press the gas to get up to speed. Also feels like I'm a little weaker when I hit the gas?

Did it rain recently? Did you wash your truck after mudding? Water could have gone into one of the spark plug tubes.

The shaking you're describing sounds like a misfire. You can go ahead and change your fuel filter. I've ran the tank close to E many times and never really had issues. I've heard that you shouldn't do that for a different reason. The fuel pump could overheat because it uses the fuel to keep it cool.

It sounds like a misfire to me. Do you have any check engine lights on? I would first change the fuel filter and see if the problem continues. If this keeps happening I'm leaning tward a bad COP. Driving the truck to E won't hurt it as much compared to a diesel though.

Hmmm I mean it isn't a shake per say, it's more an annoying vibration like I'm going onto the side of the road where the rivets are to wake you up almost.

It didn't rain recently but I did wash my truck after mudding, had no issues after I washed it though, issues only started after I took it too close to E.

If it is a misfire where do I go from here?

No check engine lights on at all.

I will go to autozone after work and change out my fuel filter. Hopefully that fixes my issue.

And sorry like I said I am a under hood newb, what is a bad COP?

Nope didn't pop the hood and do any time of washing at all. I washed underneath a little but not where the motor is

One thing that could shed light on this is that my horn doesn't beep like it's supposed to at all. I noticed it after we got back and he said his did that before from getting it muddy.

Probably not related to my issue at all but I'm just throwing things out there
