Well here it is. I have a 02 superduty short bed.
Beautiful truck but the bed floor is rusted.
I welded some sheet metal in and it looks like
Hell so I need a cheap beliner. Will a 2005 shortbed
Liner even be close? I don't expect a perfect fit. Or
How about a longed liner if I cut it down. Any ideas?
Thanks
since the beds are the same, the bed liner will be the same also. the big difference is in the manufacturer. but they all fit, from 99 to 2010 that i am sure of.
the F150 beds are way different, it might fit with major cutting. Id check craigslist or local ads for a bedliner from a 1999-2010 super duty. And dont forget junk yards! they always have them laying around
Depending on where patches are, a thick rubber bed liner may be a good solution.
my $.02: Those are my preference by a long shot anyway, as I really dislike the greased snot traction of plastic bedliners when they get wet. Even dry, stuff slides around way too easy for my taste. I've seen more than 1 motorcycle take a tumble on plastic, never on rubber.
Also easier to remove and clean out underneath from time to time. I would leave it out entirely during the rainy season if I lived in rust belt.
I use my bed hard (gravel, firewood, compost, toys) and appearance is a loooooong way from the top of my priority list, but I think an abused rubber mat looks better than abused plastic liner. And is much cheaper to replace.
