Did you do your 140 V IDM yourself? I hate electronics and will probably end up ruining the unit if I tried... Know anyone that I can send it to that can do the job clean?
Beans does that too. That is where i sent mine. It was like $110. Pretty quick turn around too.
As long as your foot ain't on the floor all the time I'd think you'll be ok. Just keep an eye on your boost gauge. If your running over 25 for a long time or often it won't last too long. I work mine pretty hard pulling and it looks/feels just like it did when I rebuilt it a couple years ago. Your 1.5's may give you a little more boost, but not that much I don't think.
I did my 140v mod myself. It really wasn't bad, it still works anyway. I'm by FAR an electrical man, hence one of the reasons I have a 120V one from a SD truck under the back seat..
Did you notice much of a difference? It was another one of those things I was hoping to do... I noticed the other day my IDM is aftermarket not by any means a stock one...I wonder that means...
Looks like I'll be doing the same till further down the line someday when I want a bigger turbo....I'd just like the optimum setup for towing and MPG, not so much for power or hot rodding but I'd be interested what the optimum setup would be.
When I talked to jake at irate I was told the s366 is the best all around for daily driving, work, and play
Thanks for the info mike. Im like alex i like to hear about turbo setups. This thread is making me change my mind bout the d66. What are the differences between the the two? Besides the direct bolt on with the d66.

Reason: ask a ?
The d66 is a stock turbo with a 66mm compressor wheel. It will push more air in the engine but the exhaust side is still stock and won't move air out any faster.
The s366 is a 66mm but it will flow more air in and out meaning better performance and cooler egt's
Here is a thread I started about the s366. It has some great info from someone that's running that setup and from Jake the owner of Irate diesel
