Crazy deal we got on the jet boat, huh? It came loaded with stuff - 9 life preservers/1 ski vest, 3 tarps, a canvas boat cover, a long ski rope, flag, & a knee board! Now all we need is one of those pull behind tubes or banana sled (do they even make those anymore?)

Eventually I'm sure I'll be crazy enough to try it! But for now, I think I'll stick to skiing behind the Bayliner. I did learn to waterski like 25 years ago, so I imagine it's like riding a bicycle...once you learn, you never forget. It might take me a few times to get up & outta the water, but then I won't want to stop once I get going. LOL! The first time I ever stayed up on waterskis, it felt like I couldv'e skied for like a hour non-stop OR until I couldn't hold on anymore. They had to slow the boat after 20 minutes so I would stop/sink & not be sore the next day. LOL!

As for the engine, it had a siezed Ford 460? Jimmy said he wants one of the two 428 engines that his boss has sitting at work to put in the boat! He doesn't really care what engine it is, so long as it bolts up. LOL!

Holy cow, a 428 in a boat? Won't have any trouble pulling skiers, that is for sure! I am even more jealous now than I was when I didn't know what was in it.

LOL!... Jimmy wants to put a "sleeper" in it & I wanted one of those loud, beefy, chromed out engines that you can hear from across the lake.
But, since we don't have a garage, putting a sleeper in it would be more logical since the engine cover would keep it outta the weather. Actually, my first thought for an engine was a 440 Police Interceptor, but a Dodge won't bolt up to a Ford (thank God) Jimmy said that a Ford engine came out of the boat, & a Ford engine has to go back in it or it won't bolt up?!

Good morning Nevada! Donna, I see you favor the subtle approach...NOT!LOL You know, you can have a water proof cover made, that will also cover the engine!

Thumbs down MONDAY ALREADY ???

Good morning FTE hope we all have a safe and productive week !!!

Donna, when I retired I "FIRED" my alarm clock... installed "black-out" curtains on my windows and put a "DO NOT DISTURB .... EVER" sign on my door. And now YOU want me to get up... be bright and shiny faced... and smell the coffee and even drink some like it's "JONESTOWN CULT KOOL-AID" ... Well, if you insist, I REALLY need to get up and get busy ... I didn't realize retirement would be so much work ... for free !!!! Have a GREAT DAY ... love the boat and a "LOUD, CHROMED 428... !!!! HELL YES !!!!" ... And thanks for the "lake" pictures I felt cooler lookin at them. Keep us posted on the boat build... have a GREAT DAY ... Dave

Happy Monday, lets drink some sunshine faced coffee, and get the morning started!

440 Police Interceptor eh? Now you are talking! Of course, why stop there? Why not get one of those original 426 Hemi's and put that monster in it? You can always buy an adapter to bolt it to the Ford mount. I know people make adapters for EVERYTHING. So it should not be hard to find. Paying for it on the other hand might be an issue. LOL Still, considering how light the boat is, a 428 sleeper would still have no problems at all towing anything behind it.

Hello all. Sorry I haven't been on in a while. Mom just had a major surgery so I've been busy trying to help take care of her. Hope all is well with everyone.

Hello Nevada FTE! Try and stay cool today! Few more weeks (if we are lucky) and the heat will go away until next year.

Goodmorning & Happy Tuesday!

Not much happening today. Jimmy just called from work to make sure we were home & ok. I guess there's a major accident/pile up with a cattle truck a few miles up the road going into town & atleast 4 people are dead. My cousin just called from Cresent Valley too! Damn...it must be a bad one!
