I have some play in my stearing and my truck wanders a little bit. I was thinking it was my steering box. I got under there to look at it to see if anything else looked like it was messed up. Well i am pretty sure i need to do my upper tie rods, i tried to greese them and the greese just oozes out. but i also reached under ther and grabbed the bar. Of course this is with the wheels on the ground. I had no play left to right, but it will twist real easy front to back. Is that normal or could that be the reason for the wondering? 2001 f-250 with 315/75/17 wheels and a 4" lift. 150,000 miles
I don't know, but, I just redid my ball joints and my tie rod ends were "frozen", so I replaced them. I would think, if they move, they might be OK, unless they move too much too easy...It's fairly cheap to do...had my front end alignment checked after aligning with a tape measure and it was exactly right! Guess I was lucky, huh!?

nice, yeah I did my ball joints last year and just opted for the lifetime alignment so im not too worried about spending the money on that. Just want to make sure i know what is right when i decide to change them.
