My front drivers side tire is showing a lot of wear and cuping on the inside of the tire. Had the upper and lower ball joints replaced. I 'm thinking it's the ball joint on the tire rod. I think i can replace it myself, done it before on my old 250 2wd.
you can the check tie rod end your self. jack up that side until tire off the ground.
grab the top and bottom ant try to wiggle the tire up and down if it moves you may have a bad tie rod. good luck.
I just replaced both inner tie rod ends and it was easy. I just made sure to take some really good measurements of the old ones and when I put it back together it fell right into place. The alignment was still good.

I had my buddy get in there and turn the wheel back and forth while I watched it for play. I did it while the motor was not running that way you can get more of a bind against it. Both of my inner tierod ends had a lot of play. It drives like a different truck now.
