Outer Tie Rod Ends?

Lift the front end and grab the tire at the 3 & 9 O'Clock positions, and apply lateral movement to the wheel......you will feel play if they are shot.

Have someone turn the wheels back and forth in short motions and look for play in the tie rod ball. You can also jack the wheel off the ground and grab tire and wiggle right, left and look for slop as well.

Take a pair of channel locks and squeeze the joint as if you were trying to push the threaded pin back into the cup portion. A brand new joint won't move. As they wear you will notice movement. If they move more than about an 8th of an inch, I feel it's time to consider replacement. But that is just my personal opinion. Good luck.
