I have 3 codes showing up-113, 476, 1211. Engine runs fine until service engine soon light comes on and then it has just enough power to move itself. I traded out the IPR as I had a good used one but that didn't change anything. The service engine light will come on after driving 2 miles. I tried the Scan Tool on it but it won't read anything at all (1995 F350).
Any ideas before I start throwing parts at it or taking it to a shop?
Thanks,
Kelly
I unplugged ICP. Check engine light was on all the time.
It took a lot longer for the engine to lose power but it did. We are 25 degrees (75 vs 100)cooler than the other days when I have been working on it. It seems to be related to the engine oil getting fully warmed up. Engine was cold when I unplugged the ICP.
I'd say you need to get a pressure gauge hooked into the head and see what you have for pressure. It's got to be at least a 3000psi gauge. Maybe your hpop is dead. How many miles on it?
The truck has 250000 miles on it. I have only owned the last 25000.
Don't know anything about prioir history on it.
What are you thinking on the EOT and is that the sensor in the backside of the HPOP oil reservior?
The rest of the story is that the inside part of factory plug where dipstick goes into pan is in pan somewhere as I put in Strictly Diesel's aluminum thingy.
Truck also got hot while dragging a heavy load home one day. That is when the code 1211 first showed up and the low horsepower issues.
Engine oil was changed when aluminum thing was put in-about 500 miles ago.
I finally got gauges hooked up to it. Truck started to take a long time of cranking to get started. Fuel pressure runs around 55-60 idling. When code 1211 is set, fuel pressure is around 36-38. Engine oil pressure runs around 22-24 at idle and 44-48 at highway speeds with engine warm. High pressure oil started out at 2000-2500 under acceleration but after engine was warm, dropped to 1500 under acceleration. Gauge drops to zero within seconds of shutting off engine. Oil pressure at idle after engine is warmed up is 500.
I assume injector orings-is that correct?
I am thinking it might be time for injectors with the mileage on the truck and no history on it.
What do you guys think?
