The front a/c on my ex on the highest blower motor speed blows out the vents like its on low, but I can hear the motor blowing at full speed. It's not blowing out of defrost or floor unless I switch it. On lower settings I can barely feel any air at all. Only does this rarely. Could it be my vacuum pump?
So all the mode settings work properly, right? It's just the speed or volume of air coming from the vents is not sufficient? You say it rarely does this. Any pattern?
If you are sure that when it does this the air isn't coming out of a vent it is not suppose to, then I might suspect the fan. But I haven't ever heard of a fan going bad.
This wouldn't have anything to do with a "vacuum pump".
Simple check is to look and make sure that something hasn't gotten sucked up into the recirculating air inlet duct in the passenger's foot well. Just get on that side's floor and reach up in there to see. Amazing what a thin piece of plastic baggie will do.
Hmmmm that is possible. Been running the a/c on recirc since I bought it 5 years ago. And I'm not the cleanest of people when it comes to trash in my truck.
