My e99 hvac is not working. The vacuum pump is
Not kicking on and fuse is good and no 12 volts to plug. I read the fan motor is suppose to blow threw a default mode which is defrost when this happens but my fan motor blows but no air comes out of defrost dash or floor vents. I've tried giggling the stuff under glove box with no luck. Any ideas?
Have you tried all fan speeds on the blower? I was looking at a wiring diagram on a later model and it shows a blown F2.27 would effect the relay for full blower motor speed (but would still allow lower fan speeds to work), the vacuum pump, cruise control, and a few other goodies.
There is a switch in the vacuum system that tells the vacuum to shut off when full vacuum is reached. That switch may be having issues.
As for where the air goes... absent vacuum, the diverter is spring-loaded to go to defrost. If the fan is blowing, that air has to go somewhere. If that spring has failed, it's possible the vacuum has been taking care of business... and only without vacuum would you know of the spring failure. If the is the case, then it's possible the air is going everywhere, which would make it difficult to feel air coming from anywhere.
Well I fixed my problem the first thing wrong is I'm stupid and there was no fuse to the vacuum pump so I fixed it with a piece of wire for temp. What size fuse does it need? The real problem was the connector on the brand new "good stuff" napa brand blower motor was backwards I flipped the connections around and what do you know it blows air from defrost

Until you reversed the connector, the blower was lightly blowing backwards. Squirrel cages are terribly ineffective in reverse.
