Guages

Questions:
For a 65, was the speedometer the large "sweep" design? Mine is a round design.

I don't believe any of my guages are stock, and the speedometer is the only one that works, but it says I'm doing 70mph pulling into the garage.

What are you guys doing for updating guages? I'm looking for something vintage looking with the modern abilities but doesn't have to be original I guess.

Looking for ideas, also using the American autowire harness if that helps.

The sweep was on '65 and '66 custom cabs (except F250 4X4's and '65 F100 4X4's). Does yours have amp and oil pressure gauges?

I would love THIS or THIS, but I can buy a lot of gas for $550 or $800. $800 will darn near buy me a Clark 5 speed.

Imagine depends on how much upgrading and price willing to consider. Having established the 66 Bronco cluster will fit 61-66 Ford pickup; although pricey, this panel may be of interest? Not sure if I could use to the blue lights?

DAKOTA DIGITAL DASH 61-66 FORD PICKUP TRUCK FULL 5 GAUGE CLUSTER VFD3-66F-BRONCO | eBay

Since it's your money kinda like this one: 1966- 77 Ford Bronco VHX Instruments

Purchase a couple spare instrument clusters on ebay, the panel needed work but once I confirmed with seller the gauges worked I would place a bid for no more than I was willing to pay and occasionally got lucky.

Several members have posted pic's of some cool and unique instrument panels, hopefully there will be some additional suggests and food for thought?

Yeah, I have the amp and oil pressure guage.

That digital guage is pretty sweet. For that much though, my wife would drop kick me in the teeth.

I bought the original full gauge package speedo from an old Bronco. I love it. I had to change the senders, but everything works and it looks old school and stock. There are a few on Ebay like this one. 1973 Ford Bronco instrument speedometer guage cluster trans coolant oil fuel | eBay

If you could post pic of your instrument panel member(s) may have item(s) needed to recondition the existing dash. Assume your instrument panel is simular/same to the panel on ebay; seems awfully pricey, personally I would not pay that much for a panel in that condition, I would'nt think yours could be any worse? Suggest that anyone buying an instrument cluster contact the seller and inquire about the condition of the gauges, if they don't work that panel is not worth $10. Using a D cell flashlight the seller can determine if the needle works, whether it's accurate is another question.

1962 FORD PICK UP TRUCK F 100 250 OEM-AFTER MARKET / GAUGES INSTRUMENT CLUSTER | eBay

If not in a hurry suggest setting up daily ebay email notices and narrow the search field to 61-66 Ford pickup parts, these clusters come up on occasion. Again, suggest post pic.

Early Bronco speedo clusters have went thru the roof lately. I was selling them for $30 two years ago.

With an oil gauge, the sending unit is the same. If you replaced an oil warning lamp w/a gauge, the sender is different.

The ICVR is the same: 1957/66 F100/1100 & 1966/77 Bronco. The temp sender is the same: 1965/66 F100/350 240/300/352 & 1966/77 Bronco. Also used in myriad applications into the 1990's.
Looks "old school and stock." Looks just like the cluster you took out, except it has oil and amp gauges.

What's the difference between the Bronco cluster and the round speedo cluster with optional oil/amp gauges used in trucks?

The Bronco cluster has different oil, temp and fuel gauge dial faces. This is the only difference between these gauges and the ones used in specific trucks. So, you can use one in place of the other.

The round speedo and the amp gauge are the same as the following.

C1TZ-17255-E .. Speedometer Assy-Round / Obsolete / 3 available NOS

Applications: 1961/64 F100/1100 / 1965/66 F100/250 Standard Cabs & 4WD Custom Cabs / 1965/66 F350/1100 / 1966/74 Bronco / 1975/77 Bronco speedo basically the same, except marked: Unleaded Fuel Only.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
C5TZ-10850-B .. Ammeter Gauge / Obsolete / 5 available NOS

Applications: 1965 F100/250 Standard Cabs & 4WD Custom Cabs & F350/1100 from serial number 624,001 / 1966 F100/250 Standard Cabs & 4WD Custom Cabs & F350/1100 / 1966/77 Bronco.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1966/77 Bronco

C6TZ-9273-A .. Oil Gauge / Obsolete // C6TZ-9280-A .. Fuel Gauge / Obsolete // C6TZ-10883-A .. Temperature Gauge / Obsolete

No Ford Dealer or obsolete parts vendor has any. There were some of these gauges available at one time, but when I posted the part numbers/sources, all went bye bye PDQ

Your answer: Off the speedometer itself.

This is the ID engineering number marked on the part itself. It's not the Ford part number.

Marked: C1TF-17255-M = Ford part number: C1TZ-17255-E

Correctamundo... came off the back of my speedo. April 1965. The OP didn't like the look of the new sweep speedo. Instead, he opped for this round one. It has the 4 gauges around the speedo. SO, what does the F & M stand for since the Ford part # Z & E. I thought E stood for engine... Ford and their #ing system.
