waterpump

I have an 85 ford with a 300 6. i am wanting to put a flex fan on it. it has the threaded water pump that the fan screws onto. can i get a pump for an older model and if so what year? Thanks

Just food for thought - I put a flex fan on my truck once (thought it might cool better) but is was WAY louder than I expected. I immediately removed it and went back to the stock fan. No way I could live with that much noise.

The big question is, "why"?

Remember that the big nut, which holds the fan, is a reverse thread.
