1994 F150 4.9.
Was driving down the road and heard a thump. So I pulled over to look to see what it was. The fan broke off at the nut for the fan clutch. I had just a new one on a few days ago. Drove maybe 100 miles on it. Any ideas as to why this would snap off?

Is it an aftermarket fan? Mighta been out of balance and started a fatigue crack that spread til failure.
My buddy had his whole water pump snap off his Chevy 350... fan and all. Guess it lost a fan blade and got so out of balance it ripped the pump off before he could shut it down.
