Thats a lift pump arm...the 86(dad's truck)'s lift pump arm was like that....the arm was missing when I pulled it.

okay remind you that i found it inside the pick up tube of the oil pump along with a **** ton of rtv because the guy did a rebuild or something on it and it was inside the pickup tube i realize that it could be something that goes to a lift pump but it just doenst fit. its too small its about two inches in size and about a 1/8 in width. i have even asked a mechanic shop and they dont know either. but all i wanna know if its important or if its not because while i tore my pistons out i looked inside there and it doesnt look like anything in the block so im very curious about it and seriously curious about how the hell it got in there.

It could be off of a different lift pump that was on the truck at one time. Since it's such a pain in the *** to pull the oil pan off, i bet it's just been sitting in there for years.

Just put the engine back together minus the mystery part.

i had kinda planned on it but i gotta wait till i get money again cause i gotta buy new pistons the ones that were in it arre all messed up look at my other thread named why you should not use starting fluid and let engine warm up. it will show you what im talking about and also i gotta buy a gasket set and bearings too so yea it will be a while

It looks like spare parts? My motto is if it falls off and the truck keep going I didn't need it anyways.

Kinda looks like a finger from a pressure plate.

see that makes more sense but its a tiny finger though really small and the pressure plates we use are alot bigger than that
