I was looking at the Motorcraft part at RockAuto but wondered if the OReileys' part was a good value.Always tryin' to save a buck but we do want the truck starting in cold weather.
That's why you need a friend in the US that doesn't mind putting a new address on the box and shipping to you. Is there some kind of tax or something is it just people trying to skrew you because you live across the border.
It used to be duty, but they've pretty much waved that. Still BC is the highest taxed province in the country which makes it almost counter productive to buy things locally.
It's extremely common place to see companies jacking up "international" shipping costs, especially on ebay. I'm barely an hour over the border, I have a few people that help me out on moving things over for me. I'm thinking a buddy and I might go in on a PO box together.

i don't like to spend good money on something, then take it out of the box and start modifying it right away. at that point you might as well just make all your own cables.

I see that this is where you and I differ, when I get something the first thing I want to do is take it apart and modify it.

i went with 3/0 tinned marine cable and ends and had them crimped at napa.
here's an old pic;
