i don't have any trucks here with any of those fittings at the moment.
double flair is what brake lines have. the adapter screws on the end of the line, and the other end has a hose barb on it. then i just slip the line on and hose clamp it. sometimes i have to make the fitting out of 3 pieces but it is still not more than about $4 for all 3 pieces of brass
yes, it is basically what you posted, only it is brass instead of stainless steel, and female on the pipe end instead of male threads

Code:
maintaining one (as you know) is a chore enough hey Mac?
Yeah, also a 2WD truck is basically useless about 6 months of the year in Denver. (especially one with a 1300 lb motor sitting over the front wheels!) I'll do a lot better trying to sell it here in CA. It'll make someone a good tow rig. When I get her all ready, I'll throw up a post to see what you all think I should ask for her. I have decided not to swap any parts at all. It was hard to hit the Ford dealer to drop another 72 bucks on a tach. sensor when I had a brand new one just sitting there, but she's a runner, I want to keep her that way. I just took her to AZ 350 miles across the 115* desert A/C blazing the whole way, with no problems at all.

It is a 5/16 compression to female 1/4" NPT with a 1/4" NPT male to barbed fitting
I was hoping for flared fittings, but I am sure they will work fine. I got both 5/16" and 3/8" barbed fittings for different size tube, and will use the Oetiker clamps. GOODBYE LEAKS!

I think the screw type clamps you are talking about are fuel injection hose clamps.

I'm pretty sure you can put a female fitting on a steel line then flare the line.

but I had a hard time finding the nut for them, if you look at the specs, it says it has a 1/2" 16 thread, and a standard nut is a 1/2 20 thread. I called the company because I thought it was a typo, most of those parts use standards, but they said it was correct. I didn't want to end up with a bunch of fittings I could not use, and they could not provide me with a compatible nut, so I decided to go with the compression fittings they will work as well, but won't look as good. Oh well.
