06 f-450 6.0 Driving down the road one day and out of the blue the door ajar light and the chimes start going off.I stopped the truck and turned it off but the warning light and chimes keep on going.I pulled the fuse and it stopped but now the interior light won't come on when the door is open. What do i need to look for to fix the problem thanks.
I'd first try spraying the door switch liberally with WD40.... This is a very typical Ford product problem - across all the Ford lines. Spray not onlty the affected door switch area, but all the doors as once it starts on one, the rest will follow. To do all doors may take a whole can of WD40.... and maybe 2 days. Spray...close/open the door a few times, let it sit overnight. If it is just a sticky switch, this will fix it.
I know that.... but what I'm saying is to just do 'em all at the same time. Save the trouble of having to repeat it when the other door(s) start givin' you the light.
