My Door is Ajar?

My Door is Ajar?
You all know, that if your door is not closed fully, you'll get the light on the instrument panel, and the dome light will stay on.
Well, I'm getting that all the time now. The dome light goes off after about 15 seconds of driving, but the dash light stays on. I've re-closed all doors, but no change.
My question is: what triggers the "door ajar" signal? Used to be, there was a contact switch on the pillar that the door compressed. I don't see that anywhere. What's the trigger?

The door switch is part of the door latch assembly. A spray of WD-40 will help it if it is sticking, but you should also check the door adjustment. If the back of the door does not sit flush with the pillars and sits further out, then the door needs to be adjusted in.
You can adjust it by loosening the screws for the striker plate just enough to move with the tap of a hammer. Tap it in a small amount at a time until the door sits flush with the pillar. You can scratch a mark around the striker plate as a reference to how much to move and in case you make a mistake you can return it to where it was.
