Primer and paint

I was just seeing what everyone thought about the water based primer and paint or the old traditional primer and paint?

It's a "feel-good" requirement by the EPA to eliminate volatile organic compounds but still requires solvent-based clear coats.

I'm sticking to enamels, epoxies, and urethanes.

Water based..? im gunna go with no on that. Mine is getting laquer or enamel

Ive seen some good paint jobs wth the wate base products. Im getting reay to primmer my 74 but Im useing urethane base primmer. You do have to get the spray guns that is set up for the water base products because they will mess up a regular gun.

A lot of vehicles are comming from the factory with a water base. Nothing really wrong with it but if you are working with metalics and you are trying to spot in a section with solvent base on a vehicle that was painted with water base you will have a hell of a time trying to match it.
