I am new to painting and am doing the trunk lid and door jams on my fairlane. Well I am not using base coat clear coat but a Delstar 1 step paint. I was just finishing up my last coat when a bunch of dust particles fell on my work you can see them when you look at different angles very easily. Please do not ask how it happened I am trying to forget that part. Anyway I am wondering the best way to fix this. Can I sand the whole thing again lightly and repaint or what are my options. I know find someone who knows what they are doing. LOL,, Please all advice greatly appreciated....
I assume you used a hardener in the single stage or enamel paint ? If so wait 3-4 days and give it a light sand with 500 grit to remove the dust , clean well and reshoot. If it is enamel paint and no hardener was used, you may have to wait a month for it to harden enough to sand. If when sanding any new paint the sandpaper gets gummy paint on it , stop. The paint is not hardened enough to sand. good luck. jmo
I wanna say thanks again it is done and it turned out very well. It seems the more I spray the better I get. I guess there is something to practice.. Thanks..
