its not about backing up, i use the rear view and look over my shoulder alot when driving. getting on the highway..ect i like as much visablity as i can get.
found 25ft of kicker 1/0 and 25ft of kicker 4ga in my room lol
hmm...
need ideas on doing a swivel mount. motorized would be cool but im fine with manual.
basically im thinking about cutting a hole in this piece of wood just large enough for the tv to fit into. make some kind of swivel mount or something so the tv can be watched from the rear end of the truck, or...
...i can swivel it to be watched inside the truck
if i can't make that work easily, im just going to mount it normal and itll only be able to be viewed from the outside.
covered the wood with tan vinyl, won't see too much of it with the tv and amp rack (below tv) mounted, but for the little you do see, i wanted it to match.
gotta get a new mount tomorrow. don't like how this one is (not too sturdy) and its a tilt mount, don't really need tilt after seeing it mounted.
took the mount back this morning and got a different one. was cheaper, doesn't tilt but the tilt feature (even on the "low profile" one i had first) made it stick out too far so the handle on the window would hit the tv. this mount seems 10x more sturdy and closer to the wall. doesn't tilt but thats not needed to be honest.
also, the tan vinyl i put behind it may be a waste because i think im going to put trim panels around the tv so you won't even see the vinyl. not sure yet though. amp rack will be mounted under the tv today.
i'm most likely going to put headrest tvs and POSSIBLY a flip down, so i decided against the swivel, however it would have been a cool feature either way.

hahah thanks!! should make for a great tailgating truck when done
I have to wire up my 2000w power inverter, i guess thats the easiest way to power this TV (its an LED tv, doesn't really draw much power at all. it only weighs like 17lbs LOL)
Ill plug it in tonight to an extension cord and snap a pic of it in action. I think i have a digital antenna at the house somewhere that I'm going to hook up so i can get OTA digital channels.
If I really needed it, the dual third row seats come out. Id have to take em out thru the rear doors and put stuff in the cargo from the rear doors, but that's an option. The wall that the tv is on is only about 5 inches deep
