Installing Some Parts...

Ok so after the trip I have some time to install the 155's stand pipes and dummy plugs, also the power max.

I was wondering what the torque was on the stand pipes and dummy plugs. Also I am assuming that its pretty straight foreward replacing them while you in there.

If all goes well I will have it running by the end of the weekend and have a new love for the old truck.

My winter project will be head studs, upgrading the oil cooler and still on the fence about what to do with the egr cooler.

When replacing the tubo do you guys find it easier to remove the down pipe or just leave it in place.

Thanks,

Sarge

Leave the downpipw in place, a piviting gear wrench works wonders on that back pedestal bolt.
Im not shure what size it is. I did the upgraded turbo drain tube while changing to the power max.

Thanks for the Specs. Cheezit.

I got the new injectors in, and the new turbo back on today. I did get a chance to fire it up. Its been a while since I did a set of injectors on one of thses and forgot how long it took to build oil pressure.

Over all the install went well, no issues with the turbo either since it was rebuilt not too long ago. I just need to get back to it tomorrow, degrease the engine, and change the oil, I did manage to get coolant in the right head while I had it all apart, not much but I would feel more comfortable if I changed the oil and filter.

After that I just need to take it for a ride finish bleeding the air out of the system so it doenst take so long to start, once thats done I need to wait for Matt to send me my new tunes and drive on.

I did notice that the last 2 cylinders on the drivers side had some diesel fuel sitting on top of the pistons, and the injector tips were real blac and wet when I pulled them out.

The driver side injector hold downs were loose so when they re-oringed them they must not have torqued them properly.

All in all things went well, and I am actually kinda looking foreward to doing the head gaskets and studs this winter.
