I may replace the auto locking hubs on my '06 f-250 diesel since I'm having a problem with them now and it's something I don't use very often.
What after market hubs are recommended?
Thanks
Warn's won't fit 05+ trucks as a replacement for the automatics.
Part number 62672 is the only Dana 60/ 35 spline outer option offered, and they don't work. IIRC Dynatrac free spin and one other brand of free spin is the only way to replace the factory automatics with aftermarket. Krewat put up a shop manual link a long time ago showing that the 6-bolt face on the Warns wouldn't work with the bearings on the 05+ trucks, but it's been a few years and I can't find the pages.
Clean or replace the autos, then plug the vac line into the knuckle. Intsa-presto manual hubs.
OK, I am going to go with the clean and a light coat of grease and unplug the vac line. "plug the vac line into the knuckle", this I will need a little elaboration on as this is a complete new task for me. Thanks
