I'm sure this question has been beat-up often. I would like to find a Barden wrap-a-round. But what other step style bumpers are available? No chrome.
Also what years will fit my 65?
I've never heard of a Barden bumper. All rear bumpers were optional thru at least 1979. FoMoCo didn't offer a painted step bumper until 1967, chrome until 1969.
There were myriad aftermarket manufacturers offering step bumpers for Stylesides and Flaresides.
Here on the west coast, the Fey Bumper Co. was a major supplier. Gave the dealers display racks that were placed in showrooms so customers could see the various types. These racks held 10 bumpers, 5 per side.
Every aftermarket step bumper I've seen have the brackets welded on. The FoMoCo step bumper brackets bolt to the bumper, then to the frame rails, are notorious "weak sisters."
A slight tap on the bumper causes it to sag down like an old swaybacked nag.
Whatever type of bumper you find, you must measure the distance between the outer brackets. If you don't, the bumper may not fit Styleside: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD, 1966 F100 4WD, 1967/72 F100/350.
In 1973, FoMoCo widened the distance between the inner frame rails from 33 1/2" to 37 1/2" on F100/350's except the following:
1973/77 F250 4WD (High Boys) / 1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase. Regular Cab: 1973/79 Trailer Special, 1973/76 Super Camper Special, 1977/79 Camper Special. Ford dropped "Super' after 1976.

Thanks Numbers. Google search Barden bumpers. They were a popular dealer installed bumper from what I researched. Available for all brand pickups. Heck, every pre-66 truck I've owned had one on it.
I see Bardens everywhere around here. Most of the wrap around fender crushers were scrapped for the more solid ones that just protected the corners and stopped there.

I have a wrap around step hitch bumper i will give you if you come to AZ and get it. Weighs about 125 lbs, its super heavy duty. An old cowboy owned the truck before me and hauled cattle and horses with it. You are welcome to it!

Thanks for offer. Only one state over. But still 1500 miles round trip.
I have been looking for one of those bumpers for my 66 but gave up as there are not many around here, good luck in finding a new step bumper as I called a couple truck body companies and they cant get them for trucks that old. 73 to 87 GM trucks have the same frame width as with the mid 70s Internationals so I am grabbing a bumper from a mid 80s GM truck for my 66 this week end.
