New bumpers?

My '72 Ranger has an ugly rear step bumper and a badly mangled chrome front bumper. I'm looking to replace them both and go with new original style chrome "sport" bumpers front and rear. Locating NOS Ford units is probably out of the question, and aftermarket chrome seems to be hit and miss. Anyone have satisfactory experience with aftermarket units, and if so, who did you order from?

....for my 66, I purchased the rear from dennis carpenter and am satisfied. The brackets, on the other hand, suck. I had to section them in three places and weld them back together to get the rear bumper aligned....so be prepared for that. Like you, I searched for original parts for both of those, but had no success in finding them.

No such thing as a "sport" bumper. This is the idiotic name that LMC calls the Styleside contour rear bumper.

Front bumper is the same: 1967/77 F100/350; 1978 F100/350 before serial number AG0,001. 1964/66 looks similar, but the bumper ends are slightly different.

Rear bumper and brackets are the same: 1964/66 F100/250 2WD; 1966 F100 4WD; 1967/72 F100/350.

This rear bumper but not the brackets was also used on 1973/77 F250 4WD (High Boys) and 1973/79 F350's on the 140" wheelbase.

And be aware that when Ford reshaped the front bumper ends in 1967, they retained the original 1964 part numbers: C4TZ-17757-C Painted/C4TZ-17757-D chrome.

ND,
So just to clarify, the existing brackets for my rear step bumper should work for a styleside contour bumper?

You never said anything until now about bumper brackets.

As I just told you in your thread in the 1973/79 forum, step bumper brackets will not work on the contour bumper, because they are completely different.

I listed the painted/chrome contour bumpers and correct contour bracket part numbers/applications in your 1973/79 forum thread.

Eric:
I may regret, not picking them up myself, but there is a set of original rear bumper brackets right now on eBay for a buy it now price of $75.00. I would jump on them like a tick on a dog!! Little rusty but beats $175.00 for Chinese repro. They are listed as 1967 thru 1972 rear bumper brackets.

I bought these a couple years ago: (for contour type bumper)
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-1972-F...t/151629917822
They fit the frame just fine and the bumper lined up nicely but I had to trim off some of the ends to match up the bumper holes.

The ebay seller obviously doesn't know that a "Fleetside" is a Chevrolet.

I listed the Ford part numbers/applications for the 1964/72 Styleside contour bumper brackets in the OP's other thread in the 1973/79 forum.

Be aware that 1964/65 F100/250 4WD, 1965/66 F350; 1966 F250 4WD use a different Styleside bed, contour bumper and brackets.
