I've got an 08 F350 - My AC will only work if I've got it on setting 4. If I try to use it on settings 1-3, nothing happens, but as soon as I set it on 4 it blasts the cold air.
Anyone have any similar probs? Thanks for any help, fellas.
Mine will stop working altogether once in a while. I just pull over, turn vehicle off and then back on and it seems to reset itself. Does not sound like the same issue but I too have had a weird issue with the AC.
I know that on most vehicles I've seen this on the culprit is the resistor that controls the speed of the blower motor. I just checked on Tousley Ford Parts' website and they do list a blower motor resister for your truck, and this should be your problem.
Not sure how hard the install is though, hopefully a tech can chime in. If you perform repairs yourself you can get the shop manual at www.alldatadiy.com or the official one at www.motorcraftservice.com.
Just remembered that it may be cause by excessive amperage draw from the blower motor. Make sure there is no blockage and if it happens again you may need a new blower motor as well. Just my experience when I used to do A/C at a Ford Dealer.

If you ever figure this crap out let me know please. Under warranty dealer replaced the eatc 3 times. Now at 51k miles, it will shut off for about 5 seconds then kick back on. I pray the whole 5 seconds
