As stated I am needing to replace the ps pump on my 76 f-250 4x4. I bought a new pump and the very simple question i need to ask is this. Does the pump bolt to a bracket that is installed into the adjustment bracket that bolts to the motor? I hope that makes sense?

The pump I got from napa is just the pump and reservoir, the adjustment bracket that bolts to the motor has three holes on top and a hole on the side for the bolts and tensioner bolt.

Stupid easy question to answer I would just like to make sure i have the right parts while im a block away from the autoparts store (before I get home after they are closed). Furthermore, any tricks to getting these old *** pulleys off of the pump (other than the obvious pulley removal kit). Thanks Gents!

 

you have to transfer teh bracket from teh old pump to teh new one

 

As noted, the bracket must be swapped. So does the pulley, and the pulley remove/install tool is the best way to get it done. If you don't have the tool, NAPA or another store should have a "rental".
